Rewiring My Brain for Change
The Rituals That Keep Me Grounded
“You cannot change anything unless you accept it.” — Carl Jung
Change used to terrify me. I’d hold on to safe spaces with a death grip, convincing myself that the tighter I held, the less likely my world would collapse. I’d drink, numb out on mindless phone games, binge-watch whatever could drown out the noise — anything but the healthy ways to process it.
Because feeling it? Sitting in the discomfort? That wasn’t an option.
But now, I know better. And because I know better, I do better.
There’s a phrase that someone close to me drilled into my head: “Don’t think. Just do.” As much as I dislike the word don’t, this one sentence has saved me from the endless mental loops that used to paralyze me.
Big Change, Real Time
Right now, in real-time, big change is happening in my life. And instead of spiraling, I am choosing to trust myself. To use the tools that I know are meant to help me through this exact moment.
My first response to this change wasn’t fear. It wasn’t resistance. It was acceptance, support, and love. That, right there, was proof of all the work I’ve done.
The second day, though? I found myself disassociating. My body went into autopilot, scrolling through TikTok like I was searching for something. But I wasn’t searching. I was escaping.
And the moment I realized it, I put my phone down and asked for guidance. I called upon my angels — not for an answer, but for presence. I asked them to help me move through this moment with respect, acceptance, and the patience needed to deliver inspiration, empowerment, and kindness.
And just like that — I felt my attention shift from the small screen in my hands to the bigger picture around me. I was back in my body. Back in my life. Back in this moment.
Day Three: My Foundation Holds
Today — Day Three of Big Change — my routines look different. The timing is off. The company around me has shifted. But my rituals? My foundation? They remain.
Because these practices aren’t optional for me. They are my lifeline. They are what keep my nervous system regulated, my spirit grounded, my mind clear.
This is where I get to be the example. Not just for myself. Not just for the people watching this. But for my children.
Because one day, they will face their own storms. One day, they will feel the discomfort of change pressing against them, and they will search their memory for a way through it. And when they do, I want them to remember this moment. I want them to remember how I responded to change.
Not with fear. Not with numbing. Not with resistance. But with breath. With ritual. With faith.
So that one day, they will teach their own children to do the same. This is how we break the chains.

A Prayer for Calm
May my emotions settle like still water.
May my thoughts soften and move like gentle waves.
Let my heart remain steady as I navigate the unknown.
May my presence bring peace, not panic.
May my words be medicine, not poison.
And may this transition be met with grace, ease, and unwavering faith.
There is an angel who governs calm, whose presence can reign in wild thoughts, panic, and grief — Leisyll. She reminds me that storms do not last forever. That no matter how turbulent things feel, a calm heart can turn the tide.
Today, I welcome this energy.
I use these tools not just to survive change, but to rewire my brain — to set my intentions for the present and the future. Because change isn’t the enemy. It is the doorway.
And today, instead of resisting, I choose:
- Gratitude.
- Peace.
- Radical faith that everything has already worked itself out.
