Daily Message: The assignment isn’t the outcome. It’s to show up.
Don’t overthink the finish line. Just take the next step. That’s your job today.
Today’s angel cards were WILD. And if this feels disjointed, please stay with me, because in the end, I promise it all makes sense.

I’ve been in the process of shifting my daily routine… trying to carve out stability for my work and peace of mind. Because my reality? I get pulled into side quests every single day. Family needs, obligations, “quick favors.” And because I don’t have a boss or clear boundaries set in stone, my ability to say no hasn’t borne much fruit. Instead, it’s borne resentment… and resentment is pure poison.
I’ve made changes. Big ones. I’ve seen improvement. But there’s also been a deep knowing that it was time for the next phase; for me to make some moves so that the Universe can provide some doors for me to open… or walk through.
This morning, I woke up unmotivated. Skipped the gym. And for the first time in months, I opened TikTok while still lying in bed. A big no-no (it only lasted a few seconds until I realized my misstep). I even considered turning on Game of Thrones. But instead, I was nudged toward YouTube and landed on a video from a shaman I deeply respect. Someone who embodies what I strive for.
I pressed play and rose out of bed without much fight.
Master Yi’s message is always the same:
“Freedom goes hand in hand with discipline.”
As I listened, I moved through my morning [without succumbing to my dopamine addiction]: tea, spagyrics, feeding the animals, rinsing my face, brushing my teeth - caring for my avatar.
His words kept echoing.
“There are two mistakes along the way to Self-Mastery: Not starting it and not going all the way.”
Starting things? I’m a master at that. It’s the finishing, the going all the way, that still has me in a chokehold.
I have a beautiful home office, but even a closed door doesn’t insulate me. The noise, the interruptions, the phone calls on the other side of thin drywall… it all keeps me in a triggered state. My body braces. My creativity withers. And I remain in freeze mode.
But then, amidst my morning routine, the thought/voice/knowing came: Go back to a coffee shop. Make it routine again. Start where you left off, but with your new intentions.
Immediately followed by: Nope. Not Starbucks. I boycott Starbucks. I won’t use their facilities or buy their poison to build my dreams.
But then another thought: It’s what you know. It’s comfortable. It’s there. And you need people. You need practice talking to people again. You do better when you’re around people who don’t need your attention. Go to where you know.
And then came a message, clear as day:
“Print a sign to put on your laptop that says ‘Free Apple Tips’”
I continued to fight the thought: That’s not what I do for a living.
But the answer came: You’re smart with your devices. This will spark conversations. People need your help in more ways than one. This is a start. You must take this step.
I acknowledged the message and then continued my morning rituals: prayer, gratitude, meditation, angel, and oracle cards.
When I reached for the bowl full of angel cards, I felt confident that I was connected to Source.
Thank you for what was. Thank you for what is, and thank you for what is to come.
Two cards jumped out:

Tenderness — Take actions that reflect the wisdom of your heart. Give generously and freely. Treat yourself and others with kindness and caring.
Sisterhood/Brotherhood — View humanity as your extended family. Reach out with acts of kindness to all you meet.
😮
Sidenote: When I pick cards, I tend to ask for the number of cards that I want at the time. To keep my daily routine doable, I ask for one. But today, two popped out of the bowl.
Are you seeing it? The synchronicity? The confirmation?
Because I did. Immediately. (If you ever delve into communication tools, the more you use them, the clearer the messages become.)
Fast forward an hour…
I printed the sign. I packed my bag. I dropped my son off at school. And I drove straight to the devil’s lair. Starbucks. The place I swore off. But also the place I know. The place that once gave me fuel and focus. And right now, comfort is what I can control while I take a personal growth step forward.
This used to be my office (not this one per se, but they’re all the same, as you know.) For hours on end, I’d sit in this space, building brand after brand, working tirelessly to turn ideas into reality. The hum of people around me kept me steady.
And then 2020 happened.
Wait - I’m skipping over a huge chapter.
In 2018, I took a corporate job. I stuffed myself into a box. A room with no freedom, no creativity, no movement. I told my boss, I told HR, I told anyone who would listen: this isn’t working for me. No one cared. And eventually, I imploded. Quit on the spot.
Two weeks later, the whole world collapsed.
If you think I didn’t see the Universe’s sense of humor in that moment, you’d be very wrong.
I understood. Clear as day. I had listened to my energy. I had walked away. And then the world itself mirrored me. But even then I had radical faith that I did what I was supposed to do.
But all came at a cost. The job offers dried up. The option to go back to the coffee shop that fueled me? Gone.
My emotional state went into a tailspin, and I spent the next 3 to 4 years crashing out.
At least what I thought was crashing out. It certainly felt like it.
But really, I was in training. My entire universe as I understood it had to crumble so that I couldn’t keep leaning on old ways of survival. I had to build new ones. I had to let go of what was toxic, research other possibilities, and trial-and-error my way into something better. I had to learn patience. Consistency. Health. Peace.
And now, here I am. Five years later.
Back at Starbucks. With a big ol’ sign taped to my computer.

The negative thoughts are still there, telling me to take it down. Telling me I am going to make a fool out of myself.
I accept that. But I’m doing it anyway. 🤯
The people walking by me right now have no idea. No idea that it took half a decade of burnout, spiritual discovery, nervous system regulation, and the rewiring of my brain (still in progress) to summon the courage to put that sign up.
But the angels know. I know.
And today, they told me to act with tenderness towards my sisters and brothers by providing an act of kindness.
So I acted (upon the message that was already coming through). I showed up with radical faith. I trusted that if I stopped thinking and just moved, everything would work out the way it’s supposed to.
And today, that’s my reward. Not the outcome. Not whether anyone takes an Apple tip. But the act of submission to Source. The fact that I have reached a place where I act even when I feel scared or nervous or unworthy.
Three years ago, I couldn’t have done this. The burnout was too deep. The heaviness too crushing.
One year ago, I could see the improvement.
But today, I finally took the step.
Here’s what I’ve learned: you can’t cheat the system. You can’t rush peace or patience or courage. You don’t get more by wishing for it.
If you want peace, you accept the chaos and choose peace. Every. Single. Time.
If you want patience, you accept the irritation and choose patience. Every. Single. Time.
If you want courage, you take the first scary step.
In harm to none. Always.
Today, showing up for me looks like a free iPhone tip sign taped to my laptop. Yours may look different.
Where it leads? Not for me to control. That will never be an option. The assignment is to show up.
So now I ask you:
How will you show up for your sisters and brothers (and yourself) today?
Instead of a mindless morning… try listening to Master Yi.
More quotes from Master Yi:
Discipline is doing what needs to be done, regardless of mood or external circumstances. But true mastery also includes patience, honesty, and living without self-deception.
No matter what you call it — structure, discipline or freedom — it must come from yourself.
Perfection comes from repetition.
Without having a disciplined mind, you cannot make and keep money; without being able to control your mind, you cannot handle success.
The cards, the quotes, even my story… they all carry something different for each of us. Maybe one line hit you like a lightning strike. Maybe it was a whisper instead. Either way, that’s your message. I’d love to know what came through for you, and more than that, how you plan to act on it.
Because the words don’t change us. The action does.
So far, no one has taken me up on my offer and that is ok. Again, that wasn’t the whole point. But I will show up again tomorrow. Sign in tact. Ready for what may come. That is the whole point.
